FIM announces changes to Regulations for 2015 and beyond

The Superbike Commission met at Buriram (Thailand) on 21 March 2015, in the presence of Messrs Javier Alonso (WSBK Executive Director), Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA Representative), Gregorio Lavilla (WSBK Sporting Director), Scott Smart (FIM WSBK Technical Director) and Paul Duparc (FIM CCR Coordinator).

The 2015 FIM Superbike & Supersport World Championship and Superstock 1000cc Cup Regulations were amended as follows by the Commission:

SPORTING REGULATIONS

Revised time schedule for the Friday (starting from Aragon round):

08:45 - 10:15 WSBK/STK 1000 - Technical/Sporting Checks

08:45 - 09:15 STK 1000 - Free Practice 1

10:15 - 11:00 WSS - Free Practice 1

11:15 - 12:00 WSBK - Free Practice 1 (Timed for Qualifying)

13:15 - 13:45 STK 1000 - Free Practice 2

14:00 - 14:45 WSS - Free Practice 2

15:00 - 15:45 WSBK - Free Practice 2 (Timed for Qualifying)


Clarification of testing restrictions for Supersport and Superstock 1000 classes
Testing by Supersport and Superstock riders and teams contracted to compete is forbidden after the running of the first European event until the completion of the last race of the season, except at the Testing Circuit designated by each team until the Sunday (included) before the race week.

2015 Medical Regulations
The 2015 SBK Medical regulations have been rewritten and will be available on the FIM website within the next days.

 

TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

The new SNELL M2015 label is added in the 2015 Technical Regulations as a recognised international standard.
